My Favorite Books

These are some of the books I refer to most often and highly recommend!

The CBD Bible by Dr. Dani Gordon

My go-to reference book! The CBD Bible offers a fantastic breakdown of how cannabis can support various mental and physical health issues. It’s invaluable in my coaching journey, with accessible explanations and compelling patient stories that make complex topics feel relatable and grounded.

The Emperor Wears No Clothes by Jack Herer

A must-read for anyone wanting to understand the real history behind cannabis criminalization. The Emperor Wears No Clothes dives into the historical use of cannabis, showing how stigma and shame around the plant were strategically manufactured. This book helped me release a lot of my self-judgment around cannabis, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to unpack these same feelings.

High Hopes by Miyabe Shields, PhD

This one’s a gem for anyone who feels uncertain about their relationship with cannabis—especially if you’re queer, neurodivergent, or BIPOC. Shields’ tone is direct yet relatable, and they approach cannabis use with authenticity and vulnerability. It’s a powerful, easy read that speaks to those who haven’t felt validated in their cannabis journey.

Healing with Cannabis by Cheryl Pellerin

If you’re into textbook-style, peer-reviewed science-y books, this is a deep dive into cannabis’ physiological impacts. Healing with Cannabis is dense yet rewarding, delving into the science of the endocannabinoid system and its healing mechanisms, making it a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a more clinical approach to cannabis education.

A Woman’s Guide to Cannabis by Nikki Furrer

As my first cannabis book, this one holds a special place in my heart. It’s an excellent starting resource that covers the basics of the endocannabinoid system, beginner recipes, and more. While I feel some key info is missing and the organization could be smoother, it’s still a great intro for anyone new to cannabis.
